SAFETY AUDITS & RISK ASSESSMENTS

To complete your safety audit our consultants will visit your premises and liaise with your safety representative or general manager as the workplace assessment is carried out. We ensure that you fully understand the process as the risk assessment is being carried out. All hazards and potential risks are recorded and these observations will form the finished report.

Our recommendations will be clearly outlined in this report and a Safety Statement or Safety Management Plan can then be constructed based on these findings.

SAFETY STATEMENT

Under Section 20 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 every organization is required to produce a written programme to safeguard:

  • the safety and health of  employees while they work.
  • the safety and health of  other people who might be at the workplace, including customers, visitors and members of the public.

The safety statement represents a commitment to their safety and health. It should state how the employer will ensure their safety and health and state the resources necessary to maintain and review safety and health laws and standards. The safety statement should influence all work activities, including

  • the selection of competent people, equipment and materials.
  • the way work is done.
  • how goods and services are designed and provided.

It is essential to write down the safety statement and put in place the arrangements needed to implement and monitor it. The safety statement must be made available to staff, and anyone else, showing that hazards have been identified and the risks assessed and eliminated or controlled.

We will carry out a site audit, complete risk assessments and build your Safety Statement based on these findings. All our Safety Statements are completely customized to each firm, as no two companies are the same.

GH HEALTH & SAFETY LTD RETAINER

We offer safety management on an ongoing basis where we will build your Safety Statement and update it as legislation changes. Our team will carry out quarterly audits on your premises. You will be fully aware of your legal obligations and we will assist you in living up to your responsibilities. In managing your safety we are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In the event of an incident or accident we will carry out an internal investigation within 24 hours of the incident. This investigation will assist us in understanding how the incident occurred and how similar accidents can be prevented in the future.
